Berkley Street Methodist Church is a friendly and welcoming church where Prayer and the Bible underpin all that happens there, the gospel and love of Jesus Christ is foremost.

There is a regular Sunday morning service at 10.30 and Sunday Club for children runs most weeks. A play/toy area is available in the church for the youngest children throughout all services.

May Sunday morning Church Services

24th – 10.30am Worship will be led by Leonore Charlton. There will be Sunday Club for children aged rising 3 years and above. Today is Pentecost.
31st - 10.30am Worship will be led by West Thomas. There will be Sunday Club for children aged rising 3 years and above.

When you join us for a Sunday morning services you will find they are a mixture of contemporary and traditional worship, which is reflected in the variety of music and drama presented. Use of a projector for illustrations and hymn/song words helps to enhance our worship (hymn books are still available for those who find this easier!). The building is accessible for people using wheel chairs and there is a hearing loop in the main worship area. Tea, Coffee and biscuits are served after every morning service during a time of fellowship.

Weekly activities

Don’t forget that... the Bargain Centre shop is open every Thursday from 10am to 4pm.
...Thursday Food serve a meal on a Thursday teatime, from 6-8pm
...Berkley Busy Bees meets every Friday in termtime from 9.15 to 11am, for preschool children and their parents/carers. No session on 29th May, but back to normal 5th June!
...the Choir meets to practise on a Friday evening at 7.30pm.

Souper Lunch is on the third Thursday of each month with homemade soup and cake for just £2.50.
Our next Messy Church is during half term on Wednesday 27th May. Messy Church begins at 10.30 and finishes with lunch by 12.30/1pm. We will be learning more about a person who met Jesus: Zaccheus! Please book a place for your family with Alison. Lots of craft, activities, challenge and lunch too!
Ladies Fellowship on Thursday May 28th at 7.30 pm when we have a speaker from the Angels Foundation. in the Church.


WAVE (We Are Valued Equally)
WAVE meets every other month from 2.30pm for a time of craft, chatter, faith and cake. Please contact by email to find out more details. The dates for 2026 are:

Our next Forest Church is on Saturday 13th June from 2.30-4pm, in Priory Park. Places must be booked in advance. We are hoping and praying for a dry day that is not too hot! Please contact Alison if you would like to come along.
The Aragon Singers will entertain us on Sunday July 5th at 3pm with a Summer Concert.
School Uniform Project ~ We have set the dates for our Big Summer Giveaway weekend ~ giveaways open Friday 24th July
(in the afternoon) and Saturday 25th July (in the morning).

The modern and accessible building is used for a wide range of activities throughout the week for all ages but especially children and families by Alison Cracknell, our Children and Families Worker ( alisonchnandfam@icloud.com - 07507 782799 )

All our activities are a mixture of Church based groups and groups from the wider community.
