Brampton Methodist Church is affectionately known as 'The Chapel on the Green' due to its proximity to the village green.
Methodism came to Brampton in the early 1800s with services being held in a local barn. Memorial stones of the Chapel being laid on 22nd April 1889 (Easter Sunday) and officially opened on 27th June that year. The members had previously met in a converted barn.
