I grew up in the Lincolnshire Fens, a cradle Methodist, coming up through Sunday School and Youth Club in a village chapel, then John Wesley Society in Oxford.
After my degree I trained as a teacher, met Roger, who was already training at Wesley House and married in 1970. With our growing family of three children, we moved around various manses in this country and spent four years in Sierra Leone, where I taught both in a school and at the university.
In 1987 I became a fully accredited Local Preacher and in 1994 I was accepted for the Methodist ministry. After serving in three circuits I retired in 2011, but am glad to be able to offer a part-time ministry in Hilton. As a retired person, sunny or wet days may find me doing almost anything, from minding grandchildren or mowing the lawn to travelling the country.
My luxury item on a desert island would have to be a photo album, to re-live the many happy memories of my life to date.
